It's one hour sketch for sculpture in clay. This is a really nice pose.

Title...title?

I finished this painting. During working on it, I was wondering what is the difference between mixed media and collage. Is this collage? I researched them and I found that my painting is mixed media because I used paint (Acrylic and oil) and lithograph(ink) on the canvas.

I really enjoyed doing the process of the painting.

この作品の製作中、これはコラージュになるのかミクストメディアになるのか疑問に思い調べてみました。この作品は、アクリル,オイル,インク（リトグラフ）をキャンバスに描いているので、ミクストメディアになります。

製作過程をとっても楽しんでこの作品が作れました。

It was the reception of Merit Scholarship Winners Exhibition (The exhibition of work by winners of the Art Students League's 2007 merit scholarship competition) last night. My old friends came and congratulated me on the exhibition and receiving the Award that I also won The Michael Ponce de Leon Printmaking Award the same time. I had not seen some of them for four or five years. So I was very happy to see them.

Playing with paper and color

It's a kind of recycle!? I have a lot of the proof papers for lithography. I used them to make a mixed media yesterday. It's not finished yet. The bottom photo is a working progress. The size is 12"x12".

Continuing to work on the female figure

It's a one month pose. It seems like a difficult pose for her to hold. I'm sorry about her. But for me, It's beautiful pose. She is a wonderful model.
これは、一ヶ月のポーズです。製作を始めて約2週間、モデルはこのポーズが辛そうで可哀想ですが、とっても素敵なモデルで良いポーズなので後2週間頑張って欲しい。

I've been making sculptures with my imaginations recently. So I really missed sculpting with model.
It's my second day working on the sculpture. (click to enlarge the photo)
I'm so excited to be working with a great model now. Her back has a lovely curve. I regret that I didn't take photo of her back to show you. The curves around abdomen and pelvis are very nice as well.
I'm going to continue to work and post photos.

Hi

I've been very busy a couple week but I was thinking about next project.

I took some pictures for next etching on Sunday afternoon.

These are the pictures I like soft lighting and light and shape shadows.

I think it's technically very difficult to do etching. I've never tried to do photo-etching but I may try!? I heard it's not easy to do. I don't decide it yet. I'm going to think of it.

Maybe it looks nice to painting too I guess. It's a new type of still life.

The Patina

The sculpture, the Neptune I created about five years ago. It was the third piece of my sculptures.
I've thought it looks nice to lighter color recently. So I was applying the bronze powder today. Look! The different patine shows clear to see more details.

Hi I've been working more etch and aquatint again on the plate for two weeks.
petrakis_nomikos left a comment for the past blog "The Etching & Aquatint" posted in April 19. His idea of a title is "Escape from the net". He said it seems to be some kind of net with an opening towards a light, standing out against the dark background.
I really appreciate his comment. Also some person said it seems corals.
I made a kind of cells. The concept of this print is a human being composes many cells but I think the cells create us. The cells are inputted many different information such as the heredity from the parents and their families. I have one more thing for the print... but I don't want to tell everything. I want viewers get some feelings from it.

I finally finished to sculpture the relief. A title is "The cat and I".
What do you think this relief and the title?

She got a haircut.

Hi
I cut her hair. I worked her face, shoes, a keystone, plant's pot and other details tonight. I'm planing to finish this relief next week.

It's grown mold on a lake in the window. it's unhealthy but looks not bad. It seems a part of landscapes. And it's a crack at the mountains seems like a thunder. They are interesting effects on it.
I want to finish it to start casting pretty soon.

The Etching & Aquatint

Hello~. What do you think?
I made some tone on the etching plate by aquatint on Thursday. I printed it out yesterday. I think it seems okay so far but I want to work on it more.
I'm thinking about title. What is a title good for it?

Etching

Hi
I would like to show you another piece, etching I'm also working now.
The upper picture is a poof of the etching that is the first stage. The bottom picture is a draft drawing before working on a copper-plate.
Today, I bited the copper-plate into an acid tank for Aquatint. I'm going to print it out in another proof tomorrow.
I hope it's going to be okay.
If I have time to post the blog tomorrow, I'll upload some pictures.

The Relief #04

You can see it's different. Yes!
I had this idea last week. I changed from the ornamental patterns to a cat under the window tonight. Also I made the plant more taller.
I've never had any cat for pet. So it's difficult to draw the cat. I was searching the cat's images on Google but the most of pictures were cat's front face. I need a side figure. I found an animation picture. I don't know it looks okay or not. I'm going to work it more tomorrow night. I worked it until 10:00PM tonight so I'm so~~ tired.
I'm going to go to bed.

I was working a hand, her dress and landscape in the window tonight. Also I changed the ornamental patterns that are under the window again.
Relief is also 3D. I work and take look different degrees. I took a photo from a side view.
I had a new idea of under the window today. I don't know it works on the relief or not.

I was working on the relief today. I thought it looks good to have some ornamental patterns and keystone on the window.
I was drawing two patterns on the papers. I wondered if it works a big pattern or not.
Then I tried making the one of them. And I worked a face and hand today too.

the Relief #01

Hello~
I'm working a relief now. I've made many sculptures before but it was a first time to make relief.
I thought it's easy to make. Oh! No~. It's so difficult to do. And I don't have any model for it. it's all my imagination. At the first, I drew a draft image on a paper then started.
It's very fun and challenge for me.
