This Summer's Exhibitions この夏の展覧会

I've had two group exhibitions for a few months. One of them was the Technical Instructors Exhibition in August at Art Students League of New York. It's a top picture. I exhibited one sculpture and two oil paintings.  And one more exhibition is still going on 41st Anniversary Exhibition - Japanese Artists Association of New York at Tenri Gallery in New York City. There is my print, title is Thread on Wood, etching in the Exhibition.  It's until September 6 (Monday) . 久し振りにブログを書いてます。数年前はあんなにまめに書いていたのに、最近はサボってばかりです。

8月はテクニカル・インストラクターズ展がアートスチューデンツリーグでありました。その時は、彫刻1点、油彩が2点出展しまた。上の写真がそうです。
それから今月は、第41回JAANY-ｼﾞｬﾊﾟﾆｰｽﾞ･ｱｰﾃｨｽﾂ･ｱｿｼｴｰｼｮﾝ展が天理ギャラリーで現在開催中です。9月16日月曜日までです。お時間あればお立ち寄り下さい。

GUTAI at Guggenheim Museum - " 具体" ｸﾞｯｹﾞﾝﾝﾊｲﾑ美術館

The Exhibition of Gutai: Splendid Playground will be closed in May 8th at Guggenheim Museum. If you don't have a chance to see it yet, do not miss it!
I went to a private opening "GUTAI" in February was great. I was very impressed. It's explored new art forms combining performance, painting, and creating some objects. 
The GUTAI Art Association had had activity from 1954 to 1972, however the most of artworks look a  very fresh to me.And it's unique that the Gutai Card Box is an interactive vending machine made in 1962 that dispenses original artworks in the form of hand-

painted cards. To deposit a 10-yen coin in exchange for a premade postcard-size work by a Gutai member. Proceeds were donated to a children’s art charity at the time.

今年２月に”具体”のプライベートオープニングに友人に誘われて行って来た。

関西を中心に1954年から1972年活動していた前衛的な集団”具体” のエキシビションが、ニューヨークのグッゲンハイム美術館で現在も開催中。
とても50,60,70年代にこんな試験的で、ハチャメチャな作品、中には緻密に計算されたオブジェクトがあったり、今現在観ても私にはとても新鮮ですごく楽しめた。

一つ驚いた出来事があった。アート作品の自動販売機ー1962年当時10円をいれるとハガキサイズの作品を出てくる。そして、収入は子供のアートチャリティーに寄付されていた。

その自販機には長い列が出来ていたので、丁度日本人で作品を買った人がいたので、作品を見せてもらった。

その方、沢山のアーティストの作品が自販機の中にあるのに、偶然にも自販機からお父様の作品が出てきそうで、私が話しかけたのは、アーティストの息子さんで、その作品がスタジオに沢山あるので差し上げると言われ頂いた。なんという偶然！なんとラッキーな事で...。
