"Nuance in Nuance" Four Person Exhibition - ４人展

I'm having a Four Person Exhibition at Gallery Onetwentyeight. Two of the artists arrived in NY from Japan for the exhibition on Thanksgiving Day; We had our artwork hanging on the walls at the gallery the same day. It's interesting that our exhibition started on Black Friday. I've created some new paintings and a drawing for the exhibition.
I'm holding an opening reception today. Please feel free to visit the gallery to see my artwork.

只今、４人展をギャラリーワンツェンティエイトにて開催しています。

木曜日のサンクスギビング・ディに日本からアーティスト２名がNYへ到着し、その日に私を含めてニューヨークから２名、そして、キューレイターとで、私達の作品の展示をしました。

そして、サンクスギビング・ディの翌日、11月29日金曜日から展覧会がスタートです。

丁度ブラック・フライディといって、これからのホリディ シーズン、クリスマスに向けての全米挙げての大セールの幕開けです。ちょっと狂っているって思ってしまいますが、このブラック・フライディは、デパートなどのお店が、朝4時や5時から開店するんですよ。信じられないでしょう。いつもニュースで朝4時の開店前にすごい列が出来ていて、けが人が出る位です。

話を私の4人展に戻して、もう今日になりますが、オープニングレセプションは11月30日4時から7時までです。お気軽にお立ち寄り下さい。お待ちしております。

会期は12月15日まで。ギャラリーの場所など上記を参考に。

The Reception at Hammond Museum

I couldn't have any time to post recently.... I had an opening reception at the Hammond Museum & Japanese Stroll Garden on September 25th. It was a very beautiful day to take a trip to upstate New York. And the museum's garden is great to walk around in the day. I met many wonderful people and the artists at the reception. I couldn't take a lot of pictures but I'm uploading some of the ones I took.
Oh! It was a very nice surprise that a woman from Manhattan who is an art collector and who owns one of my prints, came to the opening. I was so pleased to have met her there. Thanks to all who attended the reception.
　　最近あっという間に時間が経って、もう10月半ば過ぎてしまって…　先月ハモンド ミュージアムでのグループ展のレセプションの写真をアップしてます。今回のグループ展では、私の10点のエッチングとリトグラフを展示してます。
ハモンドミュージアムは、ニューヨークから電車と車に乗って約２時間、都会を離れて季節を感じられる場所で、レセプションの日はゴージャスと言って良い程の美しい秋空で最高の日でした。レセプションに来てくれた沢山の人、グループ展に参加の他の作家達との良い出会いがありました。
そして、うれしいサプライズは、私の作品ももっているアート収集家の女性が、車で3時間掛けて駆けつけてくれたことで。全くその方が来てくれると思わなかったので、とっても嬉しかったです。
レセプションに出席してくれた皆さんに有り難く感謝してます。
このグループ展は、11月20日土曜日まで開催してますので、秋の紅葉を眺めながら観にいって下さい。

A reception, Oct 21st. 個展のレセプション

I had a great reception in October 21st. Many people were attending at it. I want to thank all of them who made me a happy day. Thank you! After having it, I've been also busy not to have time to post.
I couldn't believe it's in November now. And I saw some shops with the beautiful Christmas decorations on 5th Avenue in NY already.

先月21日にレセプションを無事行なう事が出来ました。沢山の方に来て頂いて感謝してます。ありがとうございました。折角来てもらったのにほとんどの方とゆっくり話も出来なくて、残念でした。

もう早いもので11月。数日前にマッハッタンの5番街を歩いていたらカルティエのお店はもうクリスマスの飾りつけをしていました。

Joe Anna Arnett. セントラル・パークで...

I went to Central Park yesterday. I saw Joe Anna Arnett painting at the Bethesda Fountain, I was so happy to see her. At about the time I began painting, I found a book, "Painting Sumptuous Vegetables, Fruits and Flowers" by Joe Ann Arnett at the New York Public Library. I love her still life paintings. Since then I've been a fan of hers.
Joe Ann was painting the second painting of the day when I saw her, she had done another one in the morning. I wanted to see it but I couldn't ask as I thought it was already packed away, but she nicely offered to show it to me. They were nice landscape paintings.
She is very friendly, I really enjoyed talking with her. I am uploading a picture with Joe Anna and myself and a picture of the book which is I consider my master book for still life painting.
昨日セントラル･パークに行ったら、パーク中央にある噴水の所で絵を描いていたジョアンナ・アーネットさんに出会いました。私は彼女に会えてとっても嬉しかった。と言うのは、私が絵を始めた頃、彼女の静物画の本を図書館で見かけ、それ以来彼女の静物画のファンになったからです。ジョアンナさんは、その日2枚目の絵を描き終えたところでした。１枚目は午前中に描いたと、聞いて見せてもらいたいと思ったけど、もうパッキングしてあるようだし、言い出せないでいたら、彼女の方から見たい？と気さくに言ってくれた。2枚の風景画とっても素敵だった。
